Morningside Heating and Air Informative - Inconsiderate customer service

ATLANTA, GEORGIA -- I called Home Depot on Monday to schedule and appointment for someone to come out and to provide an estimate for a new Heating and Air conditioning unit. I was told I would be called shortly.

I get a call from Cheryl at Morningside Heating and Air, (678) 342-7049. An appointment is set up for 3pm on Thursday.

I take half a day off work and wait for the person to show up. Nobody shows up. I call Cheryl and she tells me they found they didn’t service my area and they let Home Depot know.

Why didn’t they let me know? They had my number. They originally called and asked for it again when the appointment was made.

I don’t really blame Home Depot. If Morningside Heating and Air even called, can you imagine someone getting a call saying, “Hey, we aren’t going to Mr. xyz’s house”… I’m sure they’d send another person right out.

What angers me is that it’s the busy time of the season and Morningside will have all the business they’ll need so they can do this and get away with it. But if you really want someone to show up when you’re waiting around. You might want to consider another company.

Why would you even go through Home Depot for this. Why not just going to a heating and air conditioning business, it would much less of a hassle.

You said you really don’t blame Home Depot, I know what you mean. When you are looking for contractors it is suppose to be more reliable to go through some place like Home Depot. That they have reputable companies to recommend and send out to you. Most of the time they do but for them it is a “crapshoot” just like when you or I call a company out of the phone book. What I do is ask people in my area if they know anybody and if they have had any work done by them. I find it is a crapshoot but at least a more informed crapshoot. Good Luck….

We bought a shed from Home Depot (only because we had gift cards) When Sheds USA, their contractor, didn't show at our house 3 times, they said there wasn't anything they could do for us. They supposedly didn't even have a contact at the company. I had to solve the problem with Sheds USA myself, even though HD took my money, they didn't give a crap about the customer not getting the service and didn't do anything about it when I complained.

A: Probably because Home Depot offers 12 months financing with no interest.
