ComEd - Difficult at every step. Why?
The whole company - Complaint
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- Moved into an apartment. This is not a new apartment. It has had multiple previous tenants. I called ComEd to make a new account and start service. They tell me there's some vague issue and I need to get my property manager in touch with them. Why is that my job exactly? So I do it. A big fight ensues. Finally they decide they need to install a new meter or some such nonsense and tell me they'll send me a bill when they do. Fast forward a week. Now another week. Now 4 more weeks. Because yes, it took them 6 weeks to get my account in order. I finally get a bill. I go to set up automatic payments. But of course that doesn't apply to the first bill because that would be too convenient and easy. Oh, and don't worry, you'll get to pay a "convenience fee" when you pay your bill by any method other than mail. Very convenient. Why should it be so hard for me to give them my money? It's like they make it difficult and frustrating on purpose. In conclusion: ComEd sucks.
