Tallgrass Market Research - Getting Paid Is Like Pulling Teeth
Market Research Study - Complaint
OVERLAND PARK, MISSOURI -- Tallgrass recruited me for a market research study earlier in the summer. It was for a national gas station chain. I was promised payment for the study itself, as well as a finder's fee for referrals (2) that I sent them for the study.
After the study concluded, I spent several weeks trying to get my payment. They were terrible at communication. They never return phone calls... instead, you're lucky if they email you back. They always have an excuse of why checks haven't gone out, or say they did and then they don't show up.
Eventually, several other participants and myself contacted the company that hired them to recruit for the study. We told them that nobody had been paid for that study and they put their legal dept on the case. Eventually, they paid us themselves and informed us that Tallgrass had been paid before the study even commenced and that they had not abided by the terms of their contract.
However......... the referral fees ($100) are the responsibility of Tallgrass, not the company that hired them to recruit. I was told that these checks would go out by August 19 at the latest. As of August 24... nothing. I have spent a week trying to get ahold of them, to no avail. They don't return phone calls or respond to emails. I even went to their "office" in person to ask. Their "office suite" is, in fact, a UPS store mailbox.
Don't trust anything Tallgrass says....
