BALTIMORE, MARYLAND -- For years I have had problems with receiving credit card receipts for the Baltimore Sun. I won't any more because it's no longer worth the battle. I purchase the paper for my school library and we have to account for our credit card purchases by the 15th of each month.

After an auto renewal that occurred over the summer when the paper was supposed to have been stopped, I arrived at school on August 13th and immediately called for the receipt. It was supposed to arrive via email within 24 hours. My assistant called two additional times and emailed the Baltimore Sun once to no avail. Yesterday we called to cancel the paper and they were apologetic and wanted to know what they could do to keep our business. Four phone calls and an email for something that should be automatic is inexcusable. It's the 28th and still haven't received any documentation showing the initial charge, cancellation or the refund owed.

No wonder the "paper" looks more like a pamphlet if this is how business is conducted.

We may not have newspapers much longer. This trend is why it looks more like a pamphlet than a paper.

As for your issue, it is very unfortunate that their accounting is so casual that an institution such as yours, which requires a receipt, can't get one. Will your library stop carrying the paper?
