Direct TV - Called for Information, Pressured to Provide CC and SOS!
Customer Service - Complaint
TOLEDO, OHIO -- I received a mailing for Direct TV - I wanted to compare their bundled package to my current cable service.
I told Kim that I was calling for information and pricing. I was not ready to order (the recorded message says to have a credit card ready). No problem sir! Most of my questions were put off, and I gave her name, address, etc. Then, she asked for my credit card before she could give me pricing! I again told her I wanted information and I'm not ready to buy.
Then, she asks for my social security number to run a credit check!
I spoke to a very rude manager, Michael, who told me I should have looked on the internet for the answers to my questions! He gave me some pricing, reluctantly, but would not give pricing for the 'genie' whole house DVR without running a credit check! I asked to quote a price assuming AAA credit rating, he refused.
Let me get this straight, I'm suppose to place an order before I know what I'm getting, and at what price, for a two year agreement? If this is how they offer customer service, I want no part of them.
