National Rental Car - Ridiculous Rates for Drop Off Location Changes

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI -- When I wanted to change my drop off location (from Dallas airport to Houston), they charged me an additional $250. They based this on the demand for cars in Houston although I was providing them a car they did not have for the week and could now supply to customers! They claimed they were now charging me for two 1-way trips opposed to a round trip although it's the same reservation (just different drop off location.) They really just realized that I was already committed to the car since I had it so this was another money making opportunity for them.

Their customer service via phone was not helpful or understanding at all! I will never rent from national again. There are too many better options and I hope their competitors' higher level of customer service drive them out of the market soon.

Read the terms of your rental contract and see that they are completely in the right. You changed the return destination.
