Air Conditioner Failed Choice Home Warranty Denied Claim
NEW JERSEY -- I bought a contract from Choice Home Warranty. Shortly afterward my air conditioner went out. Called Choice and they sent a technician out in a truck with no name and asked me to leave the payee on the check for my co-pay blank. After 5 minutes I was told that my unit couldn't be fixed and the warranty would not be honored because it had not been regularly serviced. I had it serviced every six months and provided documentation.
They reviewed the docs and denied the claim. He offered to give me a quote on a new one at my expense. I paid for maintenance and thought it was adequate. I did what I could to prolong the life of the unit. They refused to honor the contract.
