Verizon - Account Hacked
Fraud - Complaint
DC, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA -- I have not used Verizon in 2 years, don't receive any email from them with my info, nor any regular mail - yet, a bill just arrived for a reactivated account and an order for a $600 phone. Per my calls to Verizon, they have cancelled the phone and cancelled the bill (outside of the hour hold time the actual employees were great) but the larger issue is their accounts have been hacked in the past and either that info is still being used or the Verizon accounts continue to be hacked.
Either way, not good! In order for someone to obtain my Verizon account info from 2 years ago (account was reactivated from "myverizon" and phone ordered as well) they had to tap into the Verizon system networks.
I would not use Verizon due to lack of apparent security.
