Home Depot - Poor and Uncaring Warranty Service
Protection plan - Complaint
VALPARAISO, NEVADA -- I purchased a top of the line LG refrigerator from Home Depot in Valparaiso on May 17, 2013, along with three other high-end LG appliances, and had them delivered on June 17th. Just over 90-days later, on Sept 23rd, I experienced a complete cooling/freezing failure with the refrigerator. Luckily, I had purchased the 5-year protection plan; ha! Although a service tech was initially sent out on the next day by Home Depot, he accomplished nothing other than to let us know the compressor had failed. It's now it's four days later and we've been operating out of a cooler since Monday. We are expecting a service call from an LG tech today, whether we get the appliance working is yet to be seen. The worst part of this experience has been the lack of care or concern from the Home Depot store in Valparaiso, and Home Depot's and LG's service centers. No one has expressed even minimal concern about this issue; while everyone has told us how it's not their fault. Keep your fingers crossed that something is resolved today.
