Dish Network - Trying to Cancel Service Is Turning Into a Nightmare

On are around 8/29/13 my husband called to cancel our Dish account. He was told by a customer service representative that he couldn't cancel during the middle of a billing cycle. He assured my husband this would be discontinued on 9/19/13. On 8/30/13 we had our local cable company install cable to our home. Last week we received a bill for $265.37. My husband was infuriated. He called customer service and was told our service was not canceled and that we need to send them a copy of our bill indicating when we get cable. There was no documentation of my husbands call. I faxed them a copy of my bill and a copy of my installation work order.. They will not accept those documents.
And due to HIPPA, they will not discuss this matter with me since the account is in my husbands name.
We have had Dish Network since they acquired PrimeStar. Almost 20 plus years. I would love to know how many others have had this problem.
So watch out Lilliana Padilla... My husband will be calling you today. Our next step is obtaining legal representation.
Lastly, if anyone reading this is thinking this may be the company they would like to sign up with - please research all your options.. Their reception is very poor, we always lost signals, they don't work with long term customers to keep them with company, They are money hungry greedy individuals..
