Bidz.com Complaint - Returns - Return Policy on Defective Merchandise

Return Policy on Defective Merchandise - Complaint
Review by LadyJailSgt on 2006-04-13
We are setting up our own home party company and buying merchandise from this auction site. The merchandise is setting here until the parties. Upon having customers "try on" watches, have found that bands fall apart. E-mailed Bidz and told them what happened. They say if it is less than 30 days when bought send back (I PAY SHIPPING) and they will refund. If more than 30 days, OH WELL......Why should I have to inspect THOROUGHLY every item I receive and why should I have to PAY SHIPPING to return their defective merchandise. Have bought a total of 32 watches so far and 9 are defective. Beware if shopping on Bidz.com. Thank You!

I absolutely, positively, REFUSE to purchase anything through a catalog or on the Internet if they tack on 'S&H.' I made one exception about 6 years ago. A software program I wanted to purchase cost $599 + the 6% state sales tax at a brick and mortar. The identical program on the Internet was a total of $419, which included S&H with no sales tax. I especially chuckle at the TV commercials which tout 'if you call within the next ?? minutes, we'll include another (insert product name here) at no additional cost. Simply pay shipping & handling.' The S&H is usually more than what the product is worth!

I agree, I bought two watches from Bidz.com. The one came with no form of closure.

I recently had a bad experience with this company who sent the wrong item, asked for it back so they could refund or possibly send the correct item. Before returning item I noticed that they changed the picture of the item I ordered to the one I received. This could then mean that if I sent back they could possibly have said the item was as pictured and charge 15% restocking fee etc. Tried to clarify the situation to see if worthwhile sending back but given the 'run around'. This company is bad news.

I have bought a few watches from Bidz.com and the ones with a retail compare price have been good buys. I am very happy with the 5 ESQ Swiss and the Sector and the Moschino and Aquaswiss watches that I have purchased for a great deal. Around 30% retail. All arrived in perfect condition and brand new in the original boxes and with internatinal warranty cards. However, all the watches I purchased without a compare price were complete junk. Stay away from any watches without a retail compare price they are like plastic coated in aluminum foil for the most part. Stay away from ICE, ICE Extreme, parisian, MN, Marc Naimer, etc. Even winning some for a dollar I still paid more than the retail price when you factor in trans fee, shipping, taxes etc. The watch bands feel more like cheap plastic vinyl than the leather stated in the auction listing. If considering purchasing a watch off bidz go to the company website. I did this with the aquaswiss, ESQ Swiss, sector, and jules jorgensen. Do a google search for any watches you are considering buying and spell the name exactly as on the bidz auction lising. If the search comes back with a spelling correction it is a fake. My 3 cents.
