I placed a gift order on their web site, using the registry feature. When I submitted the order, an error message appeared, noting that the order did not go through and I should go BACK to submit the order again. I did just that after checking “My Account” several times, allowing enough time for any order placed to appear there. Not long after resubmitting the order (actually, as far as I could tell, submitting it for the first time), I received two email order confirmations. I called Customer Service immediately, and was assured that one order would be cancelled.

The next day I received two shipment confirmations. I tried calling Customer Service again, but kept getting dropped in their voicemail system. So I emailed the address shown for Vice President of Customer Service (a link at the side of the text). First came an autoresponder. Then came a poorly worded message saying that nothing could be done. I responded, and got another autoresponder, followed by another poorly worded message. I asked to be referred to a supervisor. Twice.

Their solution is that I should go to the bride-to-be and tell her to ship back the duplicate order. These are towels, with no gift wrapping available. What would you do when you got them? Almost everyone I know would throw them in the washer right away. Send them back? Plus, how embarrassing for both of us to ask her to resolve the corporate dilemma by shipping back a gift. Not a satisfactory solution.

Every message in response tells me that this is my fault. I was just scolded for not calling in the first place. Pardon me, but I tried. Repeatedly.

This is not customer service. This is absurd. Stay away from them. There are other, better places handling the same brands.

Tell the bride not to open one of the packages. Get it back from her, take it to your local store and have your account credited. Or keep the duplicate set for yourself.

I just checked with my local store. They said they would accept such a return. The unfortunate part is you paid shipping on the duplicate set. They told me they wouldn't be able to refund these charges.

Unbelievable. This is EXACTLY what happened to me. I'll never shop at this place again, regardless of where the happy couple registers.
