Sears - Service for Home Warranty for AHS
Dishwasher Service - Complaint
ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA -- On Thanksgiving Day 2013 my dishwasher quit working completely. I have a home warranty thru American Home security and have had this for the last 7 years but have never had to use it, The warranty company contacted me and told me that a Sears repairman would do the service call on Tuesday Dec 3rd however after taking the day to stay home I was called and informed that the technician was out sick and Sear rescheduled for Dec 5th between 1 and 5 I called at 5 and was informed that it would be around 6 before he could get to my home, the tech looked at the dishwasher and made a call and told myself and my husband that the warranty company would replace the dishwasher.
The warranty company told me that the tech did not indicate that the unit could not be fixed, The unit was purchased in 1991 and the tech said they will replace because of age, I then called Sears at 1-800-469-4663 and told her what the tech had told me and what the warranty company had told me, I asked her to please contact the tech that was at my house until after 7 last night to ask him who authorized the replacement and not the repair. She refused so I asked to speak with her supervisor at which time I was placed on hold for 42 minutes then the battery on my phone went dead.
The representative had a hard time comprehending what I was saying and needing, Very very very poor customer service and now I have a dishwasher that is dead that the warranty company wants to repair and I can't get Sears to help me with the technician that I had to pay $75.00.
