DISH Network Charging for Returned Equipment
DISH/WildBlue Modem/"Trea" - Complaint
NATIONAL, ILLINOIS -- As directed I removed the part from the WildBlue satellite dish which I believe is called something similar to a "Tria" and included it in the box with the modem to DISH. I verified all parts were in the box, which was easy because this is all that was left in the house we were vacating. There is no doubt it was shipped.
The first person I reached dropped my call after 10 minutes. When I called back I was received by a "specialist." DISH denies receiving the "Tria" and I was told there was nothing I could do. The representative "Kay #J1F" would not let me talk to a supervisor insisting the supervisor could do no more, even with my insistence that I want to speak to the supervisor. Finally, she was somehow able to communicate to the supervisor who was on another call, who told her she contacted upper management (even though she could not speak to me because she was on another call) and sent and email to upper management to send a email to the warehouse to do a search. At this time $254 has literally been stolen from as my charge card has been charged and DISH absolutely has all the equipment.
Over the 8 years as a DISH customer, I have periodically had to call them to have them remove the $5 insurance charge that mysteriously reappears every few months on my bill until finally I gave up and just started paying it. Now I have this second example of what appears to be an uncaring corporation ripping off the individual in such a way the customer is completely helpless in the face of a bully.
Unfortunately, up until now I have always spoke positively of DISH and I missed all its perks which my current television system does not have, but I will not support any business who manifests such unethical behavior. Consumers be very wary of dealing with DISH who is presenting themselves to me to be a highly unethical and calloused business who may be viewing customers as targets.
