ESBI Complaint - Unauthorized attachment on monthly phone bill

Review by NCO=scam on 2006-04-19
There is a company out there listed as ESBI and I had received an e-mail from it thanking me for subscribing to their service and monthly billing would be on my phone bill. I e-mailed back and stated that I never applied to their site & I do not authorize them to bill my phone bill, and said to cancel their ANTI VIRUS EMAIL subscription & what ever they have me on. I stated that they had better not even attempt to bill me for something I did not order,
I then got my phone and there it is, a charge for $14.95 for monthly billing for ANTI VIRUS EMAIL. I contacted my phone company and they have removed the scamming company from my phone bill, & was told it appears it was attached to something on the internet & had an automatic activation since I use dial up on my phone line. This is a SCAM they are running!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you went to a phishing site. I would make sure your computer is free of malware, trojans or viruses.

Happened to me too. I called The FTC (Federal Trade Commission" and pressed charges. Needless to say, the charges were dropped.
