Dell Computer Corporation Complaint - Inept Service - Dell Dimension 2350
BAYONNE, NEW JERSEY -- Dealing with Dell in India and the U.S. indicates an extremely incompetent and arrogant company. I have two Dell computers, each with the identical software installed. One works fine, the other will not stay connected to either of the two internet providers I have installed. Five days of calling India with excuses of storms, telephone lines and software were endured. With numerous suggestions of try this, try that, take the computer apart, etc. and nothing worked except the India tech succeeded in deleting programs, drivers, etc. it was finally decided a tech was necessary. Finally, a tech was assigned in the U.S. He showed up, put in a new modem and left. He was gone no more than five minutes and the computer crashed.
Back to the service company. Since their tech said all was OK, the case was closed. Solution, back to India. The service company WILL NOT STAND BY THEIR REPAIRS.
It appears there is no U.S. based office to speak with and file a complaint. The office in Texas is reported to be parts only.
I am now waiting for service. My personal recommendation is DO NOT PURCHASE A DELL UNIT, if there is a problem, it cannot be fixed. Read the service contract, they have no liability if they fail to fix your equipment.
