Staples - Rip offs!
Kincaid Desk Clock - Complaint
WEST BLOOMFIELD, MICHIGAN -- I purchased a desk clock @ Staples for $14.99. The clock worked fine for approximately 2 weeks. When is stopped, I assumed that the battery needed replacing, so I purchased and installed a fresh battery. Clock worked for about 15 minutes, then quit. I took the clock back to Staples and explained what happened. I did not keep the receipt (unfortunately); however, I kept the original packaging for the clock. I just wanted an even exchange, however, the manager informed me that she could only give me what the clock would ring up for at the present time. Surprise, surprise - it rang in at $1.99, a difference of $12.00. When the guy handed me the $1.99, I thought he was joking. This was the same person that sold me the clock, so I asked him was this joke. He informed me that the clock had been marked down. I was stunned!
As a senior citizen, on a fixed income, I try to watch my money very carefully. I also don't expect to get robbed without a gun! This is what Staples is doing to their customers.
Sometimes I fill in for the Office Administrator at a doctor's office, and I am the one that usually buys the office supplies; spending as much as $1-200.00 per month. NEVER AGAIN will we set foot in a Staples, and I will be informing others that I know in our community, NOT to shop there again.
