Travelodge Mission Valley Complaint - Even one night here is too long

Review by graciella on 2006-04-25
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA -- This "hotel" is really a motel charging hotel rates. The carpet was wet, the bathroom was dirty, the blankets had stains on them, there were flies in the room and the bathroom sink backed up every time the faucet was on. When I complained to the desk clerk, he encouraged me to check out and find another "hotel."

My limited stay, full schedule and unfamiliarity with San Diego did not permit me to start looking for another "hotel." The next day I asked to speak with the manager who came out from behind a curtain (strange)looking like a bull-dog that was ready to attack. She also suggested that I check-out and find another place to stay.

When I arrived home I noticed that they had tacked on charges for an in-room safe that I did even not use!! Just a complete nightmare of a place.

I would not get too hung up on the Hotel/Motel name game - that line got blurred thirty years ago. Sadly, it sounds like you got a typical Travelodge. You might try a complaint to corporate, but most likely that was a franchise.
