Sandman inn Informative - Attention F1 fans

Review by squeekie on 2006-04-25
With the canadian grand prix coming up, I wanted to wirte a warning for those of you that may be heading out there.
Last year while staying at the Sandman in Longueuil , just outside Montreal. Our room was broken into while we were at dinner. Our camera was stolen as were race day tickets belonging to my mother inlaw and her boyfriend, my husbands tickets were on him. The room had been pried into. along with 12 other rooms. all broken into in the supper hours. The Hotel took no responsability. several people lost their tickets, along with digital cameras, laptops ect.IMO it had to be someone working at the Hotel as " Nobody saw anything"
Stay away from this inn and book somewhere else.
Nothing was done to compensate.

I single it out because 12 rooms were broken into within a 2 1/2 hour period. and the hotel takes 0 responsability. I can understand if it were more random and it had been 1 or 2 rooms. but 12 is another story. a police report was filed but nothing came of it. I am pretty sure it had to have been an employee. How else would they have know which rooms to enter and were to look for items? the rooms were not even tossed everything was nice and neat. so nobody even noticed things missing until the morning.

I'm willing to bet there was more than this one hotel where this occurred. I shudder to think how many of these episodes took place here in Detroit during Super Bowl festivities this past Feb. I'm with Jay. Why would anyone ever leave something of value in their hotel room?

Hi Ponie,
My husband and Co have spent many years going to this race, staying at the same hotel. never had an issue.
My thing is the camera wasn't even in plain sight. it was in the closet in his bag. The room was not tossed the bag was still nice and neat. It was so obvious it was an inside job and the Hotel would do nothing. and this was a nice place too.
