Cordia Communications Complaint - Cordia Slammed my Mother
My 74-year-old mother was a Verizon customer and received a call about switching her plan. Believing she was talking to a Verizon employee, she asked if it was the plan she had seen advertised that she had been thinking about switching to. The person said yes, only she would be paying the "wholesale price" instead of "retail". My mom kept asking if she was talking to someone from Verizon and they kept saying yes. Then of course, the trick they use to make everything "legal" according to the email they sent me is this: "During the third party verification recording, it clearly asks "Do you understand that Cordia Communication is a separate company and not affiliated with your current service provider?"
and your mother had answer "Yes". Of course they probably didn't record all of the double talk they used to get her to agree to switch, which I pointed out to them in my reply email. They prey on elderly, confused people. I also informed them that I am contacting the FCC, the Attorney General, and the BBB. Does anybody have any advice? Let the battle begin (I'm in the mood for a good one!)
