Reservation Services Company Complaint - Misleading Information, Poor Service and Extra Charges

Review by Will Furman on 2006-04-28
MONTANTA -- I placed a reservation with Reservations Services Company for what I thought El Tovar Hotel at Grand Canyon with this company, but wanted to cancel it immediately, due to a change in plans. There was NO WAY to contact them (either by email or phone) until they had made the reservation. The list their location as being in Bozeman Montana, but there is no listing of phone or office here.

They also hide their charges, and, in small print, they will make a reservation as a nearby lodge if there is no room available at your first place of choice.

Well, they made a reservation at another lodge, rather than the one I requested. However, in the meantime, I had called the lodge directly and made a reservation on my own, directly, theu Xanterra, the property managers at Grand Canyon, where they had rooms available that I had originally requested from Reservation Services Company.

Anyone who deals with this travel reservation company should be aware that they give poor service, at an extraordinally high fee, and can't be contacted to answer questions or have a dialogue before they have your money.

There are many other far better services to use, and I would recommend not using any anternet company that does not post a phone number clearly on their website, just to be able to resolve issues easily and fairly. Unfortunately, Reservation Services Company is not one of those travel agencies.

Wait, If there was no way to contact them, how did you make the reservations in the first place? But you were able to contact them after they made the reservation?
