Total Defense Anti Virus - Complaint
REDWOOD, IOWA -- I am extremely unhappy with Total Defense. I have asked for reimbursement for my laptop due to Total Defense wiping out my computer. I have been given the run around until they found a decent enough loop hole to deny my claim.
I had taken it to a repair man in town to see why the Total Defense program wasn't updating properly. He said we needed to uninstall it, however we couldn't. He contacted Total Defense techs on my behalf. This is when the tech went into my system 32 and deleted it. Wiped my system.
Your customer service people said since I had taken it to him, they are no longer responsible, even though it was their techs who did the destroying. What is a normal person supposed to do? Wouldn't you take your laptop in, if you thought something was wrong? That's like taking your car in for an oil change finding out that there is a recall on it but they will not honor the recall because you got your oil changed.
I say what is the difference?, If it had been him or I, it was still Total Defense techs. I had asked for 800 dollars for my laptop. The price to replace my laptop with the same specifications. I didn't ask for the money or the money I spent on the repair man.
The Total Defense is a nightmare to work with. I have been tossed around to different areas because they don't know what to do with me. I don't want tech, I don't want their help. I wanted reimbursement. I have been working on this for over six months now. Every time I get the same statement: they would look into it but never getting anywhere. Finally someone denied my claim. However I remain diligent and hopefully I can contact someone who will say yes.
