World Centric Informative - Dirty utensils, warped drinking cups, bad attitude

Review by lorrwill on 2006-05-02
PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA -- My company is in the process of transitioning to environmentally friendly products. This company is one of many that I found as a possible vendor for many items.

To date we have placed three orders and each one has been a mess.

The first one, I got spoons falling out of broken plastic bag. I brought this to the owner, Aseem Das's attention and he said he is aware of it and they are working on it.

The second order had drinking cups that were so warped they could not be used. Aseem replaced them. With more warped cups.

The third order contained forks and knives, both of which had almost completely fallen out of the plastic bags. World Centric reuses their boxes so they are pretty filthy. It is not acceptable to ship food items like this.

However, when this was brought to Aseem's attention, he claims that they have NEVER recieved any complaints of this kind. And he copied 2 of my managers when he did it. I emailed him privately with a copy of my first email about the dirty spoons and he said since I am not happy with his company go shop somewhere else.

And no, we can not return any of these products and are stuck with them.

Well obviously, we are a business and do not have time to play games with people like Aseem so I will be using another of the list of vendors I researched. I feel very strongly however, that people know what kind of product, shipping and customer service they can expect should they make the mistake of shopping at World Centric. I wish this had come to my attention in my preliminary research; I would have passed them by.
