Mealagent.com Complaint - Do not bother using Mealagent.com!!!

RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA -- A few days ago was my wife's birthday and we are new to the Raleigh area so we decided to get some nice take out from a local restaurant and have a romantic meal at home. Well, I placed an order with what looked like a very appealing restaurant, Di Bella Ristorante, from mealagent.com. I got my order number and an email confiming my order and scheduled a pick up time of 7:15. The order said the restaurant would call, which they did not so about an hour before the pick up time I tried calling to make sure the order would be ready and kept getting an "all lines are busy" message, I thought there had to be a problem with the phones since there had been high winds in the area all day. So I decide to drive there and get my food (20 minutes each way mind you), I was apprehensive about the order since I couldn't reach them but having worked in the food industry, I really didn't want to stick the restaurant with a fully prepared meal ($45 dollars worth of food) if they had indeed received the order from mealagent.com and prepared it. I tried to contact mealagent.com as well to see what the problem could be, but of course was asked to leave a message and couldn't reach any live person. So after driving all the way there, it turns out that Di Bella Ristorante has closed down, and has been closed for over a year and a half!! It's ridiculous that mealagent.com would still have the restaurant menu listed on their site and take orders for a restaurant that does not exist. Needless to say, the next day I sent them some feedback using their website stating how mad I was that I wasted all that time for nothing and my wife and I didn't get our nice dinner as planned (I should have just cooked it myself, but it being a weekday and all thought I would take the easy wasy out, I've learned my lesson) and that they should take down the menu for Di Bella's since they do not exist any more. Well, I didn't even get a generic email response and the menu is still up on their site. So if you are considering using mealagent.com for ordering I would suggest you avoid them and just call the restaurant directly!

What a shame. Maybe Mealagent.com should do the same.

I hope you found a good italian food restaurant in the area that does do take out though it's getting harder. Should email their webpage support and tell them to take it down. Sheesh! What a hassel.
