The Latest in Practical Robot Technology
The more I learn about the iRobot company, the more impressive it gets. As you may know, they do more than just the Roomba and the Scooba; they also are constantly designing robots for the military and police. More distantly, they'll have robot technology in automobiles.
But the Scooba is the most recent practical, commercial robot. It's the next step up from the Roomba, which as we all know was the robot vacuum cleaner. The Scooba uses the same technology and the same basic concept, except instead of a vacuum it's a mop.
And an effective mop at that. The dogs may bark at it, children might either be scared of it or fascinated by it, and at first you'll probably spend as much time watching it as you would spend if you were mopping the floors by yourself -- but as you watch it you'll probably say something like "How cool is this?" In the end, your tile floors are clean, and that's the most important thing.
