My3cents.com - why isnt marijuanna legal

Review by ice_069@yahoo.com on 2001-12-06
GARDEN, MICHIGAN -- the state and president say there isnt anyway to tax marijuanna, and that is why they wont let us have the drug and believe or not more people are using marijuanna in my town than ever.like 90% of garden michigan smokes pot! so why cant they sell it like ciggarettes and tax us like that! whats the big deal look at alchol so many people get dui's and kill people why driving drunk and people fighting! how often do you hear about some one killing some one while using marijuanna? all you hear is a bunch of cops raiding houses and messing with people who smmoke marijuanna! i think that this topic should be brought up and thouhght about! they always say they cant tax it well theres a way! and if they do legalize it then people would probably pat taxes on the crop that they do grow! i do believe that it is a topic that would make alot of people happier! and a whole lot of people wouldnt be breakin the law!

i want this topic to be brought up and fought until they finally do legalize marijuana! and i will continue to try to get this to everyone including the goverment and the president until something is done and marijuanna is finally legal!

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

First off, my friend, you should put down the bong and pick up an English book. In order for people to take you seriously, you really should use proper grammar and spelling. Try not to sound like some burnout who just, "needs it legalized, man." There are a lot of facets as to why marijuana is not legal and the government making too much money off of the trade is one of them. Become a NORML (National Organization for the Reforming of Marijuana Laws) and maybe then some people will listen to your ideas. If you pick up a copy of Hightimes magazine you will find a list of legislators in your state that you can contact regarding the issue. Until then, party on and good luck in your mission. You're not alone.

I agree with you and also, yes- on this topic your grammer and spelling doesn't help your debate. It is absolutely insane the money and time spent on law enforcement of mary laws. A NATURAL substance no unhealthier then cigarettes(strong unfiltered), and far less dangerous than liquor. How bout the same monies going towards crimes against property or person? The police are tied up with my pot smoking, minding his own business neighbor, while someone steals my car or mugs my wife. This ain't coke folks, and please drop the "gateway drug" speech.

There's a reason why it's called 'dope'

Your argument about not being able to tax marijuana is specious, as there has been a program of taxation in place for many, many years for marijuana. I am a former police officer, and your statement about the auto accidents is ridiciulous. If I had a nickel for every time I arrested a DUI, and then found marijuana and paraphernalia in the vehicle, I could have retired before I got hurt. Every time we would arrest someone for almost any crime, we would find marijuana on them, usually in quantities way above what personal use would be. Just the fact that pot is so often found on actors of other, more serious crimes. I feel a lot of times, the petty criminal has to get stoked up on pot to have the nerve to commit worse crimes, which would make pot 'crime fuel.'
