Cingular Wireless Complaint - Billing problem - Cell phone
I had to convert from AT&T to Cingular to get more minutes. I signed up for the Family Talk plan for $89.00 for 2 phones. That was in October of 2005. I was receiving 2 different bills. In January when I had time to spend about an hour on the phone with the billing department they were supposed to have fixed the mistake and put both lines on one bill and I had over a $300 credit. In March I received a call from a Collection Agency informing me that Cingular had turned my bill over to them as it was 3 months late - $170.00 charge. I called billing and they assured me that was a mistake and I had a 0 balance at that time. To make a long story short it took me over a month and about 5 to 6 hours on the phone with cingluar and them assuring me every time they had taken care of the problem and cleared it up with the collection agency to get it straightened out. The 2nd line was never cancelled and I was being billed twice for the same line but was receiving only the 1 bill. I had to spend many hours on the phone and asking to speak to supervisors and even threatening to hire a lawyer before I finally got it resolved just hours before my bill was to be turned into the credit bureau. I guess my complaint is the fact I was told several times it was taken care of but they never followed up with the collection agency to get it cleared up with them. I should never have had to spend so much of my valuable time on the phone with them for what should have been a simple procedure.
