Aetna Health Ins of NJ Complaint - Unfair treatment of seniors

BLUE BELL, PENNSYLVANIA -- I have been enrolled in a Golden Medicare plan
with Aetna since 1992. Last Sep.05, I received
a ltr from them stating they would automatically
enroll me in Medicare D Exp date for enrolling
5/16/06 of enrollment. As of 1/1/06 they
cancelled my pres.drug plan with them. I called
serveral times and was told they were working
on it. In the meantime I was paying for some
expensive drugs total $300. per month out of
my own pocket. On 3/31 I enrolled in a Pacific
Health Care Med D plan. On 5/7/06 Recd ltr
cancelling my ins.Saw Dr 2X bill $250.Aetna sent
me a ltr today 5/11/06 saying they will not
pay this bill. Bill incurred on $/24/06 and 5/04/06 at which time I did not know ins. was
cancelled. Wrote back today telling them that
since I was not notified of cancellation before
these dates, that they should pay it. Threatened
contacting my lawyer. I am 73 and do not deserve
this abuse and God knows how many other people
they are abusing like this. Thank you

You have to read the fine print with these companies. They're always trying to rip off us older folks.

Call the medicare D helpline 1-800-633-4227! Better to get it straightened out than screwed over forever. Call before the deadline, call at once I believe Atena has a contract with Rx plan though it may different in your state. CALL the hotline!

I didn't know there was an age limit on abuse. What's the cut off so I can be ready.
