The Signal/Nextel Complaint - Cell Phone Replacement Insurance Is a Waste Of Money!
WAYNE, PENNSYLVANIA -- Talk about a Run Around?
I filed a claim with The Signal on Monday April 17,2006.
I had lost my phone i870 Mp3 phone On Easter but they were closed.
I called Nextel and they only put a Hold on my service.
That hold still makes me pay the FULL Amount of My Phone Bill!
They don't inform you that they could turn off service for up to 6 months per your request.
The Turn off costs $6.00 per month but the hold is your full months bill.
I didn't know that small part at first so I got the Hold on my account.
I knew I had to act fast to prevent paying the full amount.
I talked to Signal 2 mins. later.
They told me to fill out a Claim Form to recieve a new phone, not a problem.
I faxed it that same day at Kinkos.
I recieved a copy and confirmation to make sure that it was ok.
Two days go by w/o a call back. I'm thinking everything is ok.
I called them on Wednesday to ask when was I getting a phone.
They told me that my fax had Too Much Info.
I should have taken a hint at that moment that they give people a bunch of crap to buy time.
I said ok and refaxed it that day with Less Info. I called them back that afternoon and they told me that they were shipping it Thursday.
They gave me a tracking number and told me to call the post office for tracking.
Friday, I didn't recieve it but USPS Allegedly left me a notice.
They Never Left the Notice but I was thinking ok , Maybe they'll come back with it tomorrow. Saturday, no phone but Nextel manages to cut off my service .
They had billed me a month in advance for cell phone service even with the assumption that I would recieve my phone.
I had to pay or else they refused to turn the service back on to the other phone on my account.
I paid even tho I didn't have my phone.
Monday, I still didn't recieve it.
I knew that Something wasn't right.
I went to the Post Office 4/24/06 with the tracking number and they couldn't find the package.
The P.O. told me to wait 2 More Days until my Mail Carrier came back to find out what happend.
Now, I'm having even more trouble.
I'm thinking Oh Man It's been a week!
I NEED MY PHONE!
I go back Wednesday, 4/26/06 and they still didn't find it.
I'm was sooooo upset thinking how the Post Office Staff is sooo Irresponsible.
I cheered up thinking "THE SIGNAL" was on my side.
Boy, was I wrong!
The Signal Informed me to Fill out MORE paper work with the Post Office to put a trace on the phone and to file Their Insurance Claim.
What kind of company makes you fill out Their Claims so that they can recieve Their Money?
I said ok what ever b/c they told me that it would take 5-7 Business days.
After I fill out the paper work and wait the 5-7 Business days, I call them back on 5/5/06.
When I call back , they tell me that the Customer Service Rep Lied to me.
Instead of 5-7 Business days, I was suppossed to wait 10-12 Business Days !
My Claim Is Taking almost a Month from April 17
They say call back on May 12 and we'll get you a new phone.
I'm thinking ok, if I try on Monday , they should have their facts straight.
I Called Back today May 15 and guess what?
No Phone , No Info , No nothing.
I called today at 10:22 a.m. but they told me to call back in a Few HOURS ?
After a month , the only thing I keep getting is Call BACK & Wait.
I'm tired of waiting!!!!!!
My Advice to Anyone who has read this.......
Keep Your $4.95 in a Jar for when your lose your phone.
That way, you can walk right into the store and buy one that Same Day !
