ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA -- I bought my insurance policy with Progressive 6 months ago for my new Toyota Camry 2014. I was paying 150 dollars a month for the first 6 months. My policy will expire in 2 weeks from now. I haven't had any accident or any violation during this 6-month period and I put only 2,200 miles on my new car since purchase.

I called PROGRESSIVE this morning to get a quote for the next 6 months and I was surprised by the answer. They increased My premium to 190 dollars a months; only for being a loyal customer with no accidents or violations during the previous six months !!!! What a punishment !!!! When I asked why, I have been informed that the medical cost to deal with injured people is increased and that is why you are getting this increase. I thanked him for the great offer of increasing my monthly payment by 40 more dollars.

I contacted Travelers and they gave me a rate of 179 a month.

Contacted Geico and I found a fantastic deal -despite my speeding ticket about 2 years ago- Guess what .....??? I will be paying 120 dollars/month now for full coverage instead of 190 dollars.

My advise for you guys; especially those who are trying to get insurance for a new vehicle or getting insurance for the first time; I strongly recommend AGAINST PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE, because if you spent your first 6 month free of accidents or violations; I guess you could get a better deal and discount with any company other than Progressive. They don't care about customers leaving and I think It is an issue with Employees loyalty to the company, they get paid by hour and they don't care about keeping customers.

I regret the time and money I spent with them and I Hope Geico will be a better company. I hate switching insurance companies but this a 70 dollars/month saving.
