True.com Dating Informative - How They Got Me
TEXAS -- When I signed up for the free trial I made it a point to write down the number to call, having had problems in the past finding the person I needed to cancel my subscription. This time they added a new wrinkle however, at least new to me.
The trick here was that the nice person on the other end told me that she would be happy to put the cancellation through. In fact, since i hadn't filled out the free personality questionnaire, I should do so and she would give me another 30 days to receive responses. I asked her to repeat herself when she said that if I still wanted to cancel after the 30 days, I could do nothing, the cnacellation would automatically take effect before I was billed. If I wished to reactivate, I should call and then and only then would I be billed.
Well, when I saw that my account had been debitted $50.00 I called and demanded to know why.
Of course the (not so nice) gentleman told me that they had informed me during my first call that I needed to call back before the 30 days in order to stop billing. My explanation fell upon deaf ears though.
They got my $50.00, but they also got exposed.
If you are searching for a dating service...Yahoo has always been fair to me.
True.com however, has a serious defect in their name.
