Maytag Complaint - Oven Catch Fire After First Time Use
YORK, PENNSYLVANIA -- On March 5, 2005, our brand new MagTag Precision Touch Control 500-Gas stove caught fire after being turned on for the first time. We settled on the house on Feb. 28, 2005 and five days later the stove caught fire. I preheated the oven at 350o and before I knew it the stove was up in flames. The damages totalled $19,000.00. The builders of our new home did not take responsibility, we were told to call our insurance company. The insurance company took care of the damages. We asked for our $500.00 deductible back and was told by the insurance company that would be a part of the subjugation filed against MayTag. Well it has been over a year and MayTag refuses to pay our $500.00 deductible back. We also own a MayTag side by side botton freezer refrigerator as well and the fan that cools the refrigerator went belly-up for no reason at all. The manufacturer's warranty on the refrigerator had just expired. Thank God I had an extended warranty on the refrigerator. I have read most of the complaints against this company and it is atrocious as to what this company has gotten away with. What happen to the days when companies would just replace your product to save their reputation..........Where are you Montgomery Wards! MayTag is taking total advantage of people and we need to do something about it. It is sad how these money hungry companies value a dollar over a human life. God help us all!!
