CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- I encountered sunrocket advertisement via mail. at the time i had just signed up for packet 8 voip services. Sunrocket was offering 199/yr phone service w/ 2 free phone if you sign up. i brought this to the attention of packet 8, and i was told they could not match the offer and my only option was to cancle service. This canclation would cost me $60. But i compared my savings w/ sunrocket,and opted for cancling my packet 8 service (for which i was charged $60, and for which i put a complaint in to BBB, summarily, they refunded my fee's thereafter). Now my 1st month of service w/ sunrocket, not too good, it was so bad, i was considering going back to pacet 8 (but i vowed never to deal w/ packet 8). Had a very torrid time w/ CS, because no one seemed to know the problem. i even explained to them, it was the sunrocket "gizmo" adapter, b/c i never had any problems w/ packet 8 adapter. it got to the point where i told them to cancle my service. They cancled as i requested, but never really tackeled the main issue of my choppy phone conversation problem. i called back, explained my situation to the rep. he simply stated, that my problem can be resolved, but was not able to reconnect my old acco
unt. he started me on a new account (old one i was given credit - 2 mo. of usage, which i asked for a refund b/c i never used their services full i'm still awaiting a response) but i recieved my new gizmo, and the service was a bit better. called CS, they helped me set my adapter, helped w/ updating my adapter. So now w/ new adapter, call quality improved a bit, but still have problems w/ choppy voice quality. I'm told it has to do w/ my ISP (comcast cable) but according tonthem everything is good at their end. (comcast has told me, of an upgrade this june 2006 of the andwith) sunrocket reps told me having more bandwith should help. So i await this upgrade by my ISP, and check on quality of phone service. But otherwise, sunrocket service and reps were better to deal with the second time around. So its hard to say, if this company is totaly bad, i'll say, there are faults here and there, but i've noticed tthat they are trying their level best to improve on thier faults. So i'm going to stick it out, and see how i can help them improve to be the best voip company they can be. So at the least i can say this: voip phone service is new, it is NOT the same as land lines, it seems all voip companies have similar problems, why not choose sunrocket since you do get 2 free phones for signing up, and also,, their prices are as advertised, no tax or other stupid fee's other companies have.
