MAGNOLIA, ARKANSAS -- One evening my sister, two friends, and I decided to dine at the local Pizza Hut. After much discussion, we decided on cheese breadsticks as an appetizer, a pizza for my sister and one friend, spaghetti for the other friend and a Pizza Hut Supreme Sandwich with NO TOMATO for me. Our waitress did not write down the order which made us a little uncertain that we would indeed get what we ordered. The first thing to come out was not our appetizer, but the spaghetti and the sandwich...WITH tomato. I pointed it out to the waitress who said, 'Oh yeah. Now I remember.' Instead of making a scene I decided just to pull the tomato off. After looking at the sandwich (the tomato was a mushy one and tomato guts and juice were all over the sandwich) I changed my mind. When the waitress came back to bring the pizza and (finally) the appetizer, I asked if I could just get a new sandwich with no tomato. She took my plate, walked back to the kitchen, and from our table in the lobby I heard her say, 'Just take the tomato off. I don't know why she couldn't do it herself.' At first I wasn't sure that I heard her right, but my friend asked, 'Did you hear her?' and I knew that he had heard her too. I walked to the counter and asked what the problem was and why she had told the cook to just take the tomato off. She denied saying anything like that. When we asked to speak to the manager, it turned out the manager on duty was in fact the cook. He also denied hearing her say anything about my sandwich. At this point no one was hungry and none of us wanted to eat at Pizza Hut anymore.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
We didn't pay for nor eat the meal, so I don't need a refund. I would like for other people to know what happened at this particular restaurant. And I would love for other restaurants to tell their employees what customer service really is. For one thing...write down the orders when you take them. For another...make sure the order are correct before you bring them to the table. And if the order isn't correct, offer to fix it without complaint. But most of all, if you do complain or grumble, DON'T do it where the customer can hear you. I will never eat at the Pizza Hut in Magnolia, AR again, and quite frankly I am wary of any Pizza Hut in other towns because of this incident.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
