NETFIRMS.COM Informative - Domain Cancellation NOT HONORED

Review by drpkumar on 2006-05-30
CALIFORNIA -- NETFIRMS.COM is one of the top web-hosting companies. I had booked several domains with them last year to try out a couple of websites. So they obviously had my credit card particulars with them. The annual renewal of all those domains was due in April-May, 2006. I chose not to renew any (but one), and they agreed to cancel the unwanted domains and not charge my credit card. However, I discovered to my dismay that they in fact did charge for two of the supposedly cancelled domains. When approached, their support service now wants all details of cancellations etc. before making the necessary refunds. And, I simply don't have the time to start sifting through those bundle of emails all over again. The point I'm highlighting here is that it not entirely safe to leave your CC particulars even with companies of otherwise high stature. They may not be ill-intentioned, but just a wee bit too big to avoid transactional confusions. And, any such confusions at times prove very costly, though in my case I lost about $20. I'm saying lost since I don't have the patience to waste any more of my time b'coz of their inefficiency and lack of concern for individual clients. Of course I had to get my card blocked to save myself any further losses !

A good reason not to give your credit card or debit details to any company, no, no, no, no.
