Thousand Oaks Racquet Club Complaint - General Manager's attitude

Review by nursejessi on 2006-06-05
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- Thousand Oaks Racquet Club was recently bought by new managementa nd their choice of a new general Manager leaves much to be desired. She has the attitude that the current members are expendable if we have complaints regarding the changes being made instead of attempting to work with the current members to resolve issues. I have a feeling this small community gym and tennis center is going to become as uncaring and money hungry as the large gyms like Gold's and Bally's if this manager continues in her position.

Just like in the old Soviet Union...uniformly horrible service wherever you go. Once your club lowers it's standards, it will have greater appeal to the masses. To the "bottom line junkies" many people paying $100/month is better than a few paying $1000.

Might it be that your complaints would be viewed in a better light (and possibly followed) if they were presented as suggestions? Many people use the line 'that's the way it's always been done' without giving a different method a chance. Let me guess, you're one of the original members, right? Typewriters used to be the main method of business commumications, also. Give it some time. In the long run, the changes made may be for the better of the club.

People, all I can say is that she is absolutely correct. Just come by the club at 2263 Thousand Oaks and look around. The place is not worth the $86 a month fee since there is no nursery, the indoor pool and hottub are nonfunctioning, etc.

The General Manager is the owner's daughter-in-law and she is married to a local attorney. She's not going anywhere.
I plan on cancelling my membership and going to Lifetime Fitness.
