Overstock.com Complaint - Avoid Overstock.com Airline Ticketing
Ever wonder how some businesses stay in business? Wonder that aloud about Overstock.com. I've used all of the major online airline booking services: Expedia, Travelocity, company-specific web sites, etc. and never had a worse experience than with Overstock. They are the absolute worst. First their web site is cumbersome to navigate, then when I received the airline tickets in the mail (they issue paper tickets if you can believe that), they tell me it's MY FAULT that the tickets are wrong (when I called to request a change). They told me that I should have responded to the confirmation email I received when booking the tickets. Unfortunately, the email address they had for me doesn't exist so they would have received an "undeliverable mail" message on the confirmation. When I asked what they do with undeliverable mail messages, the customer service rep told me that "they never check, nor follow-up on those". Seems ridiculous to me that they would hold me repsonsible for responding to an email confirmation message that I never received in the first place. Beware of using this service since the airlines can't help you with customer service issues booked through Overstock.com either: when I called Frontier to see if they could change my flight to the one orginally requested on the Overstock site they told me that they couldn't help me because Overstock printed the ticket on United Airlines card stock (whatever that means). When I called United, they told me that they couldn't help me because it was a Frontier flight on a paper ticket and that I had to go to the airport to resolve it and oh, by the way, there will be a $200 penalty per ticket. That's just great, so now I'm paying another $1000 for Overstock's failure to perform their job. Stay away from Overstock.com or use it at your own peril.
