DOUGLAS, ARIZONA -- We came in the afternoon about 3 o'clock. I wanted to rent a room and the lady was very nice upfront and she said, "I'm sorry but all we have is an upstairs smoking unit that is nice and clean." My son and I went upstairs the room had a smoke smell, like smoke real bad but it was okay we needed a place to stay. Well we lay down and try to hook up the TV. The TV did not work so we went to Walmart and bought a new plug-in wire for it and the TV still would not work.

We went to the office and they gave us another room, it was a lot cleaner and better carpet but the bedding looked very dirty and worn out. So we took the comforters off. The corners of the sheets were worn out and would not stay on the bed, so I pulled them down. We went to sleep for the night.

We woke up the following morning and the sheets are balled up around my body. It was the grossest thing that I have ever seen in my 58 years of my life. Rollover and got up and looked and there was a giant blood spot 12 to 14 in diameter on the bed that looked like some woman had a problem and left a bloodstain on bed. It was gross, it actually looked like a pregnant woman had sat there and her water broke. I am so sick about it.The money that they gave me back did not satisfy me. I should have somebody from corporate get a hold of me, otherwise I will publicly broadcast on every network and every news place I can ring till someone from corporate contacts me.

I am appalled to let you know that Motel 6 did not take care of their beds. Somebody in this office should do something about it, it is horrible. I hope nobody ever in our life stays at Motel 6 in Douglas Arizona. How would you like to wake up in somebody's nasty blood. I went to the office and they were so embarrassed they did not want us to talk to the manager.

1915 E APACHE BLVD. TEMPE AZ -- I made reservations for this Motel 6, to be there by 2pm, when I arrived the front desk said it would be ready by 3pm. 3pm came and room still wasn't ready, 4pm came and they said 4:15. I never seen anyone go into the room they gave me before 4:30pm. I didn't say anything about it. However when I turned on the TV and you can see by the photos what I was dealing with.

This Motel 6 has the most rudest and unprofessional staff, the front desk told me that this hotel is a "franchise" and they couldn't give me a noon checkout time due to the shower not working right, and then they shut off the water right in the middle of my shower (after I finally got it to work) they said no on anymore towels, they only supplied me with 1 towel, 1 washcloth, floor mat and they were dingy and thin. The door lock didn't lock and my things were rummaged through when I left the room.

The mattress frame stuck out so far I kept hitting my chin and bruised it badly, the mattress was stained and so worn out it was disgusting! Plus I have an RF detector that detects cameras & wireless signals and in my room, my detector kept going off like crazy and there were extra devices on the wall that just didn't look like it should be there, I felt as if I was not alone in that room and being watched! This place is ran by a bunch of tweekers, "deliverance" movie mentality type people and I suggest no one spend their hard earned money on a motel that you will receive terrible service if you get service at all there, good luck! You will need it!!

OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA -- On November 07 my wife and I call the reservation line and requested a room with a queen bed. We were told there was one at the Motel 6 1800 E Reno Oklahoma City. We arrived to find a FULL bed, not a queen. We dealt with this. We decided to check the bed and furniture, a habit we are into now. I attempted to lock our door, only to find the locks would NOT work. Upon more inspection, I found a number of other thing.

A LARGE wet stain on a chair. Dried spit on the carpet. A hole in the wall BY THE SINK, with wiring hanging out. The restroom was so filthy that we had to use our towels to clean it. (they refused to come and clean our room unless we paid EXTRA cleaning charge.) The vent behind the toilet was half hanging off the wall, which fell off later that night striking my wife in the head and leg. In the end, DO NOT GO TO MOTEL 6 ANYWHERE. We WILL be contacting our Attorney over this mess. If you have had similar experiences with this chain email me **. We as consumers should not have to deal with these kind of Companies. Please see the photos.

HAMILTON, MONTANTA -- Motel 6 in Hamilton MT is awful. Will never stay there again. Checked in at 9:30 at night. I was told the room wasn't cleaned yet. The check in host went to get the cleaning staff to go clean the room. The cleaning guy didn't want to do it but eventually did go. I went to the room after I was told it was cleaned. The cleaning guy just remade the beds using the previous occupants sheets. There was hair on the pillows and toe jamb stuff at the foot of the bed. There was urine stains on the toilet, something spilt on the night stand and the smoke detector was missing. I had to go down to the laundry room to pick out clean sheets and make the beds myself. The next night I stopped in at the lobby around 8pm. I asked if the rooms were cleaned yet and the check in guy said yes. I went up to the room and nothing was done. Beds unmade, the original sheets we took off the night before was still in the corner. Towels on the bathroom floor. The next morning while trying to check out there was no one to be found. I waited for a good 20 minuets and I also called the reservation hotline. They tried calling the office twice and still no one showed up. NEVER AGAIN AT ANY MOTEL 6. (We'll leave the lights on and we'll leave the previous occupants sheets on too)

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA -- Our observations in our room: Horrible smell upon walking into the room. Door latch dangling from one screw, obviously broken. Bed duvet cover was covered in stains. What appeared to be a poop smear on the headboard AND on the bathroom floor.

The bathroom was gross: white tile filthy, grout moldy, shower curtain clearly moldy, shower bench left rust stains on several places on the floor tile, shower head desperately needed replacing, NO counter space, a roach crawled across the floor and I squished it into a tissue. No blow dryer or little lotion bottles or little shampoo bottles or tissue.
The TV stand hadn't been dusted in what appeared to be a long time. We were given one towel, one wash cloth and one hand towel!!! We had to put our whole body weight on the front door for it to latch closed.

Security asked us to move our car because it was backed into the spot (against the he said), yet they did nothing about the cars that were parked over the parking spot lines preventing anything but a smart car or a motorcycle from using the already limited parking! This amazed me! Basically I would have left and found another place to stay if the area wasn't sold out due to the festival we were attending. I was horrified at the filth and had to wear shoes at ALL times in the bathroom AND shower in fear of catching something.

I have stayed at many Motel 6's in my day and never have I encountered anything like this. This owner takes NO pride in his motel and they clearly don't check to see if their housekeeping staff is doing a good job or not, or they just don't care.

ASTORIA, OREGON -- Let us start at the beginning; the website reservation had nowhere to request a handicap access room so I had to call the motel to ask for a ground floor handicap room. When we arrived we were told we had a ground floor room, but nothing was mentioned about it being handicapped.
At the door; the first thing we were hit with was the smell, the cleaning person must have used an entire bottle of cleanser in that room because the smell hit you from the door and every time we came back to the room and opened the door it hit you again.
The room; there was 1 chair, hard molded wooden looking chair. No table or desk, just 1 chair. While a spacious room because of the lack of carpet and lack of furniture it echoed badly inside. This Motel 6's website had showed a table and 2 chairs in the room.
The bed; the sheets had been tucked so far under the mattress that the blanket was not even visible until we removed the bedspread and sheet and found the blanket mixed in between them, in other words they had “Short sheeted” the bed. The bed base was so creaky that every movement was loud and echoed. The pillows were the smallest flattest things you have ever seen.
The bathroom; WAS NOT HANDICAPED, the toilet seat was loose and caused me to fall when it slide sideways. It was very difficult to get up from the toilet without any grab bars, had to use the door frame to pull myself up right. I was not even going to try to get in and out of the shower since it was a standard bathtub with high sides. The toilet flush was so loud it uncomfortable. Again, I had asked for a handicap room because the photos on their website had showed a roll in shower in their “Deluxe” King room. Which is what we had paid for.
The curtains; we discovered at night that the curtains were on a broken double rod system but there was only 1 curtain and it was placed 4 inches out from the window, allowing so much light around them that with the lights off we were able to read by the light of the porch light that was directly outside of our window, it actually got darker in our room in the morning when the light went out. Why there was not a second curtain or why the one that was there was so far away from the window I'll never understand.
There was an uncovered power outlet just under the headboard that could have caused a fire or electrocute one of us if we slid our hand in the 3 inch space between the bed and the wall.
The cleaning person came in the next day, but all she did was pick up the towel off the bathroom floor and did not leave a spare roll of toilet paper, I tried to call the front desk but the phone would not accept any key presses, and the only number I could find was not for our front desk but rather headquarters. So I had to get dressed and walk across the parking lot in the rain to ask for a roll of toilet paper.
The little things; there was no Kleenex, the book they leave in the room for you to see what is available in the area had at least 3 businesses that were no longer in business.

OMAHA NE -- I book a week stay at Motel 6 on J St in Omaha, NE. The night I checked on I noticed the bathroom door was broken and the sink stopper was stuck on the sink. I called down to the front desk and I was told that he will have the maintenance person take care of it in the morning. The next day came I showered and the shower curtain that was up did not prevent the water from getting on the floor so again I called the front desk.

Later that day the front desk person came down and glued and taped the bathroom door where it was broken and fixed the sink stopper. Everything was ok until I woke up the next morning to large cockroaches crawling up the bathroom walls. Omg! I was upset now thinking they could be all in my items that I had there. I walked to the front desk and was handed roach spray. I explained to the front desk that I'm not your exterminator nor are you going to spray that on the room where I have my pets at.

He said later that morning the manager will be there so I could speak with. During the time that I was waiting I saw about 10 roaches. I stated later that morning to the manager that I wanted to check out because I cannot and will not pay to stay on a roach infested place. So instead of trying to accommodate, the manager then bumped our nightly rate up to the original rate which was $15 more a night than the weekly rate we paid because we wanted to leave, which is not right. How ridiculous! Pay the extra to stay somewhere else!

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA -- I was in Oklahoma on 05/21/2013, and I checked into Motel 6 at 12:30 am on 05/22/2013. I opened my suitcase, put on my pajamas, and left my suitcase open on the bed with me and went to sleep. I woke up feeling awful. I turned the shower on, but it was taking forever for the water to get hot. I turned the bathroom sink on, and it too was taking forever to get hot. I went to my suitcase to get the clothes that I was going to wear that day, as I left the water running in the sink and in the shower. I heard the water splashing on the floor. I went to turn the water off, because there wasn't a pipe under the sink to catch the water. Keep in mind I'm naked.

I grabbed some clothes to put on and went to the office to ask for another room. They did not have one available at the time, and so they asked me to come back. In the meantime, all of my items are in the room. I returned to the motel to get a key to the new room, and asked if they moved my items for me (2 suitcases and a laptop). They said, "No, but here is a new key and you can move it yourself." Somehow, the original room (228) would not accept the key to get in.

It's 5 AM and I am walking back and forth from the motel lobby to this room, each time explaining to the employee, that the key is not working. I advised I had to get my items out asap. I had to be in court with ** at 8:30 AM. They could only say we are sorry, but we cannot get the door open. They gave me a key to a new room (122), and I asked why. If all of my stuff was locked in room 228, what good would it do me to have a key to room 122? They finally opened the door to room 228 at 8:37 AM. Of course this was too late, no shower, no make up. I changed clothes, and went straight to court.

In the meantime, I'm itching like crazy. I assumed it was because I did not take a shower, but the itching was intense, like something was on me. Come to find out, I have numerous bites all over my body. The room was infested with bed bugs. I had to drive back to Nashville, TN with a hair brush scratching the whole way. I ended up going to the hospital to get medication to cure this mess. I ended up staying in the house the whole holiday weekend. I missed out on my holiday pay at my job, and I was supposed to be on a boat a Percy Priest Dam with some friends.

I am still stuck in the house, because the dr. at the hospital could not determine if I only had bed bugs, and not scabies. To end this long dramatic incident. I had to throw away both suit cases, to prevent from bringing these bugs into my home. I want to be compensated for this mess.
