Payless Car Rental - Phoenix Arizona Complaint - Horrible Service and Situation
PHOENIX, ARIZONA -- Beware of Payless Car Rental in Phoenix Arizona -Sky Harbor Airport. We rented a car on March, 24, 2006 and returned it on April 1, 2006. We did have a receipt of return of the rental car on April 1, 2006 and also proof of our flight back to Ohio on April 1, 2006. We received a call on April 13, 2006 asking when we were going to return the car!
Thinking this was a computer mix up or an error in recording the return, we expressed our concern to the company and wondered how this could happen. The manager had no response and was not very friendly but made note (or supposedly made note) that we returned the car on April 1, 2006. No apologies were given for the mix up or any explanation for that matter.
On June 5, 2006, we received in the mail a copy of a ticket for $48 and an admin fee from Payless of $50 (total of $98). The ticket was from April 7, 2006. We were not in possession of the rental car and were back home in Ohio. For the last week I have been trying to get a return call or an explanation as Payless automatically charged our credit card the $98 without our consent. NO ONE FROM PAYLESS CAR RENTAL EVER RETURNED OUR CALLS!! (updated June 23, 2006)
We are fighting the $98 charge and have filed a dispute for the credit card company to resolve the matter with Payless. Update as of June 23, 2006 - the credit card company has credited the $98 back to our account.
I would not recommend using Payless for the above reasons. The $98 has been credited back to our credit card from the credit card company. I have filed a complaint on-line with the Phoenix Better Business Bureau. This is no way to do business. I would be surprised if they keep in busines considering how they treat their customers!!
