Stop & Shop - Stamford Complaint - Bad pricing - food

Review by newenglandconsumer on 2006-06-17
STAMFORD, CONNECTICUT -- Stop & Shop - Bedford Rd, Ridgeway, Stamford:

1. Will not sell low cost lunch items like slices of pizza
2. Most other lunch items, at its deli, it refuses to mark as to price
3. Expensive, like chinese lunch special, that they will mark
4. Sales on items are often poorly disclaimed on posters, the catch is almost entirely hidden in small print..
5. Items in refrigerators and on shelves often do not match the prices listed below them.

All = crooked, criminal, and fraudulent pricing and sales practices..

I don't look to a place called "Stop and Shop" for bargains. Take your business elsewhere.

Yeah, that doesn't seem right.

NE con: There is a S & S near me on Lawn Guyland. Albeit, they are a bit pricey, virtually none of the problems you describe occur there. Maybe, it's the local store management.

If they are ripping you off, why do you keep shopping there? You have the right to shop somewhere else you know.

That the S&S will not sell slices of pizza. Tough luck! It's called a private enterprise for a reason. They can sell what they like at whatever price they like. Mismarked goods may be an issue for your state A/G. However, sir, you can simply vote with your feet...as the other commentators suggested.

Go to Costco at 779 Connecticut Ave, Norwalk, CT only five miles away, like all Costco's they should sell Hebrew National hot dogs, pizzas and other fun muchies. Worth the membership.

DocJ,
Maybe you misunderstood me. I meant to say that had sold slices and then for some reason, stopped. It is interesting that the only prepared food in that store that had pricing at that time, was expensive. Coincidence? Hmm. I would say so, except I think I know Stop & Shop.
