PortForward Compliment - PortForward.com

Review by glc on 2006-06-17
NEW YORK -- I had previously heard of this site, but today I used it for the first time, and it was awesome. A friend of mine bought a new router, and she had problems configuring all the PC's in her house. I should mention that my friend has 3 teenagers ALL who play various online games, and my friend has to connect to a VPN (Virtual Private Network) for her job.

PortForward.com is a user-friendly site that goes into ALL details of setting up and using routers, firewalls, portforwarding. It is mostly written in layman terms, and has many useful links.

While there are some annoying "ads", the site has SO much free info, that I figure, hey, everyone has to make a buck. So, if your planning on doing any networking in your home (whether wireless or hard-wired) check out this site. I consider it "oggida free". Oh, also buy Linksys...usually they are the easiest to configure!

Thanks...anything so I don't have to call Haji, I mean "Jim", at an outsourced "help" desk (mud hut) in suburban Bombay.
