Hertz Complaint - Holding My Money
CALIFORNIA -- My husband rented a car for 1 day from a Hertz location in California. He used our bank's Visa debit card to secure the car and reservation. Upon returing the car, he paid cash for the rental. Hertz has put 2 holds on our checking account. One is for $88 while the other is for $35. This hold was still on 5 days after the car was returned. I called my bank and said the hold from Hertz will be released on July 12th (6 weeks after the rental). I called Hertz to find out why the hold was still on and was told that it's my bank that won't release the money back into our checking account. My bank says they don't hold money and to call Hertz and ask them to send a fax so that the money can be released. I have called Hertz 3 times and they refuse to send a fax and keep telling me it's my bank that is holding up this money. We won't ever be renting a car from Hertz again.
