Sells broken parts and will not replace or refund

CALIFORNIA -- I purchased a new motherboard. The box didn't seem damaged but when I opened everything up the area where the pins connect to the CPU did seem damaged. I contacted the customer support immediately and explained the situation and they said that they would be able to replace the damaged item. I sent it back the next morning after our online chat. 6 days later I get an email saying that they cannot replace the item and that they will be returning the broken item in 3-5 days? I contacted the customer support service again trying to figure out why. They said that there policy doesn't cover damaged items. Yet I received the item in its state, returned it the day after it was delivered to me? I mentioned that I explained this to the customer service representative the day I received it and they said they could replace it. She recommended I call the manufacturing company instead?!? I feel robbed and I recommend any consumer to stay away from this company, it's a few dollars cheaper but they make there money on sending you broken parts.

Poor Third Party Service

CITY OF INDUSTRY, CALIFORNIA -- Newegg.com is not the reliable company it used to be. Newegg relies almost exclusively on third-party vendors, a practice which allows it to deny any responsibility when there is a problem. The biggest problem I encountered, last year and again last week, is that Newegg has no standards at all for which third party vendors it allows to sell via its Website. Last week I made the serious mistake of ordering a laser pointer from Newegg, assuming they would make sure it was delivered from a reputable vendor.

In this case, the vendor is Superdigital, a Chinese company that should be avoided at all costs. After further research, I am shocked that Newegg would piss away its reputation by allowing Superdigital to use its name and Website to scam customers regularly. Skeptical? Here's the link to Superdigital's profile on Newegg. A full 53% of customers give Superdigital one star out of five, and are not happy with their order. Seriously, Newegg, why? https://www.newegg.com/Superdigital/about

It was bad enough last year when I replaced my laptop through Newegg. Unknown to me, that also was a third-party vendor, though it was within the US. In that case, shipping was slow -- it took four days to get the order out of Texas after FedEx already had picked it up. It spent another two days sitting 40 miles away from me at a FedEx warehouse.

When the laptop arrived, Fedex delivered it to somebody else in the neighborhood, so I only found it via a scavenger hunt of the neighborhood. It arrived with no power supply, no paperwork, no nothing. Just a laptop stuffed into a box. Contacted Newegg, they tried to foist off responsibility on the third party, haggled about whether a laptop needed a power cord, etc. A very negative experience, but eventually they worked it out. This time I've already ordered a second laser pointer from another, more reputable seller. I will NEVER use Newegg again. I have deleted them from my electronics bookmarks. They are dead to me now.

You Will Get Burned.

WHITTIER, CALIFORNIA -- On 10/30/2018 I ordered PlexDisc 4.7GB 16X DVD-R 50 Packs Logo Top Disc Model 632-810. They arrived on 11/06/18...tried a few of them and not 1 would burn so I wrote them on an online chat, explained my situation. Annie, is whom I spoke to, who was very helpful issued a refund. Here is where it gets ugly. On my CC statement, it looks like they are trying to charge me twice. So I opted for another online chat today (11/10/18). Spoke to Hayline this time, who was disrespectful and argued with me stating my money was issued back to me. Now all the while looking at my cc statement and it still shows -6.98 instead of +6.98.

I know this doesn't seems like a lot of money but the issue isn't the money, it's the principle. You buy something, you expect it to function as advertised when it doesn't, you want a refund right? Well, so do I and that is how I see it and what I bought did not function like it should have. So I got the runaround while waiting 40+ minutes to even be acknowledged in the first place. (You are placed in a queue when you start an online chat). Anyhow...I won't be shopping at Newegg.com any longer and Hayline is to blame.

Now to all you potential newegg.com shoppers out there, be warned, if you purchase something and it does not work as described...good luck in getting on your refund and you may also be charged twice for it. You would be better off shopping at an accredited place of business with good customer serve like Amazon.com instead. If I do end of finally getting my refund, to which I will not hold my breath on I will amend this review, until then, it is true and I stand by it. I posted this same review on other review sites, people need to know that newegg.com are thieves. They have no trouble in taking your money but God forbid if something goes wrong and you asked for a refund, for you certainly will not get it.

Newegg Customer Service Supervisor Nicole E. - Very Unprofessional

WHITTIER, CALIFORNIA -- I have been searching for several days for an affordable setup for a new computer through various sites and came upon Newegg for its competitive pricing for a Cyberpowerpc. After finally determined to purchase from Newegg, I saw they promoted a financing payment plan through a financial institution Synchrony Financial. I clicked on the link from the Newegg site, filled out the info, and was required to call for authorization. Keep in mind that I thought I was speaking with a Newegg representative, so at the end of the authorization I asked if I could finalize the purchase and the representative told me to call Newegg with the application number. Confused, I called Newegg customer service (took an hour for a callback) and spoke to a representative and was told that they could do nothing on their end and to call Synchrony back.

After much back and forth and each call back from Newegg taking about an hour, I asked to speak to the Newegg Customer Service Supervisor. As soon as she answered, she sounded completely detached from the situation – speaking quickly and monotone as if reading from a script. The subsequent conversation did not go well. With every question, she regurgitated the same company policy over and over in a low monotone voice with no attempt to ease my frustration. She cut my questions/statements off at every chance, attempting to counter each notion. When attempting to use the word “financial institution” in regards to Synchrony, she butt-in before I could finish, stating that she knew of no financial institutions that I spoke of. When asked if there was anything at all she could do, she gave me an example stating that I could not ask for a receipt for Target from Wallmart. While this vague example is true in theory, it does not fully apply to this specific situation and further shows how deeply she separates herself from it.

All I wanted was to continue being a customer and make a purchase from Newegg with an authorized credit line from an apparent partnered company, but I was met with complete disregard for customer satisfaction and detachment from the entire process.

At the end of this ordeal, the credit card will be delivered to my residence in 5-7 business days, and the computer that I wanted to purchase is now Out of Stock. While there very well could have been nothing she could do, this exchange with the Customer Service Supervisor Nicole E. (she stated that she was not obligated to give me her last name) has left a very negative image of Newegg customer service in my mind.

Never Shop Newegg

CALIFORNIA -- On Black Friday 2015 we ordered $1,100.00 in computer parts to build a new system for our son in college. They shipped via UPS who in left this package on our front porch and no one home. The package was stolen. We contacted Newegg and they contacted UPS to do an investigation, which 3 days before Xmas was still not resolved. I got very impatient and tried to get this resolved so to have the gift for X-mas, one of their customer service members talked me into doing a whole new order (which I paid an additional $1,100.00 for; they in turn paid for 2 day shipping to have this under the Xmas tree).

They told me that once UPS would complete their investigation, they will refund the money. Too bad it was NOT THAT EASY. The Newegg idiots then sent this shipment to a totally different address even AFTER they confirmed my mailing address. I managed to get that money refunded, but the initial shipment made in Nov. they were dragging their heels.

Needless to say our son never got his X-mas gift. It is now Feb and this issue still has not been resolved. They refuse to send new parts or refund our money because according to UPS they "delivered the package to the correct address, and therefore will not cover the cost."

Newegg then decided not to refund my money nor ship out the computer parts. They claimed that the 2nd shipment they made and refunded because they shipped to wrong address was the refund, and therefore the issue was resolved. Never mind that they are two separate order numbers placed on two separate dates. They were not even considering the fact of the initial shipment from Nov. They seem to think that initial $1100.00 was a present to them I guess.

Now Newegg claims after 2 months that they want to see a Police report. Sure why not report something stolen 2 months after the fact. After forwarding this police report, and now DEMANDING money refunded, I am still waiting for their reply. I went to the bank to dispute charges as well to get my money returned.

I don't care if I have to pay 4 times as much for computer parts by shopping somewhere else; I will NEVER buy anything from Newegg again. After this great experience they can kiss my ass! SHOP AT TIGERDIRECT instead. Never had issues with TigerDirect.

CITY IF INDUSTRY, NORTH CAROLINA -- Purchased two Klipsch Icon KF-28 Dual 8" 2-way Floorstanding Speakers on 8/4/18. They were delivered by Fedx all busted up and destroyed. Fedx driver told me to contact Newegg. Newegg had me send photos of all the damage so I did. After several days they got back with me and told me they would send replacements. I asked that they send UPS and mark them as fragile. Few days later fedx showed up and showed me again that the packaging was destroyed and the speakers were all busted up. Newegg customer service had me send photos again and this time stated they would get it right. At this point I have been charged for three speakers when I only purchased two, only have 1 good speaker delivered and over three weeks later they are still giving me excuses to why I have not received my order or refund. They have lied to me, not return phone calls and on 9/3/18 I emailed replyied a representative that lied about inventory and told her if I did not receive a actual phone call from someone resolving this issue I would be posting negative reviews. As you can see they do not care. Horrible products because of being defective or damaged and also horrible customer service. Still have not received full refund or replacement!!

CALIFORNIA -- I am a "primer" member and have been shopping at Newegg since 2009. I own a small business building and fixing computers. I've been mostly using Amazon for my business needs but have used Newegg frequently personally. So I tried moving some of my business over and a fiasco ensued which cost me $300, headache and potential loss of a longtime client. None of which was my fault. Newegg support offered me some assistance on a new purchase. It's difficult to call as I am very busy throughout the day and get pulled away and can't give my full attention.

I recently have not been able to speak with who has been assisting me as they are so busy. I've been trying to work out the situation over email. To make matters worse when I am communicating via email most of the time something is completely missed, when I'm obviously asking a question it got ignored and an agreement fell through. The poor communication and lack thereof has made this more of a hassle than it has to be. Perhaps the intention was good at first but I've gotten nowhere.

Sold Me a Defective MacBook Pro.

WHITIER, CALIFORNIA -- I purchased a MacBook Pro on 3/1/2015. Had to send the first one back, did not work. Second one worked for three months then crashed. It was too old to support an operating system supported by Apple, so I got no protection from Apple and was not able to use Safari or any other Apple apps. When I contacted Newegg in October 2015, I was told I could not have a refund or credit. I had to use their warranty company (third party) VT Services. Between October 2015 and March of 2016, I had to send each computer back to VT Services because they could not fix it properly.

It's no wonder because the MacBook was old, scratched, very dirty inside with dust bunnies around the fan, and electrical tape around frayed wires. VT services has now told me that I must go through Newegg because the computer is too old to support an operating system that Apple supports. When I called Newegg today, they said "No refund no credit, because it's been over a year." I don't think that Newegg has any intention of standing behind the cast off computers they sell as refurbished. They used to have a good reputation, but no longer. Don't buy anything from them. They can not be trusted.

Newegg Nightmare

WHITTIER, CALIFORNIA -- On April 7, 2013, I purchased an Asus Tablet for my son. I liked my son's tablet so much that on April 10th I ordered one for myself. My son's tablet works great. My tablet started to show there was something wrong with it. I started to notice waves of light when using certain programs. My son's tablet did not behave the same way. Suddenly, the waves of light became more noticeable and my colors for my icons and videos were faded out. It was obvious something was definitely wrong.

I sent an email to Newegg.com and asked about returning the tablet. I quickly got an email back from ** stating that my tablet was not returnable because that I opened the box! How else was I supposed to know that something was not right unless I opened the box and put the tablet to work? Fortunately, or so I thought, I purchased a 1yr., 1day service contract. I called Newegg and spoke with a man who told me that I purchased an accidental damage policy, not a service contract. I was supposed to receive my contracts by email, but never did and he didn't offer to email them either.

I then went into my saved emails and found that if went to my receipt and clicked on the service contract, that it said what was covered. Well, the man I spoke with was wrong. It was NOT just an accident policy. I called Newegg back and spoke with **. I asked her about being told that the tablet was non returnable and she said that was incorrect information. I then asked about the service contract and she gave me the phone number for SNET, the company that issues the service contract.

The lady at SNET, at first, tried to tell me that I had to go through the manufacturer. When I told her my contract said, "1yr. 1day", she changed her story. It got worse. Now, ** tells me that it isn't really a service contract and that SNET does NOT repair, nor replace the tablet. They issue a gift card, or voucher. I told ** that is NOT what is WRITTEN in the SERVICE CONTRACT. It was like talking to a brick wall.

I then called Newegg and spoke with **. ** was surprised when I told her the service contract was not a service contract. SNET does not repair, or replace anything. ** said they were supposed to repair or replace the tablet. ** is now contacting SNET to try to find out what is going on. I can't believe no one at Newegg seems to know what they are doing or how to get anything done and done right.

I have a lot of friends that recommend Newegg, but from my experience, Newegg has not lived up to what my friends have said about them. I will NEVER purchase another thing from them. Now I have to wait 3 to 4 days to find out who is going to repair or replace my tablet. My advice is to stay clear of Newegg. com.

Restocking Rip off

I returned a product within 3 days after receiving it and they charged me over $100 for a $400 item - one small box - for a restocking fee. That is a consumer rip off. My mistake from ordering from them to begin with. Based on the customer service I received, I should have known better.
