Inmod.com Informative - Utter lact of communication
In early June, 2006, I place an order for an Egg Pod chair from inmod.com. Also during this time, I placed several other orders with other companies for various items. Unfortunatley, I had just changed my billing address with my bank, and this information had not yet been updated with Visa.
For all of the companies - execept inmod - I immediately received (via e-mail) an order confirmation, and shortly thereafter a note stating that there was a problem with the charging of my credit card. With this information in hand, I was able to cancel all of the orders until my Visa account had been fixed.
Inmod never sent me a confirmation e-mail, and the charge they attempted on my credit card eventually was cleared from my account. Having never heard from them, and not having an order number from the company, I could only assume that inmod.com could not charge my account, and thus never processed the order. Since I had never heard from the company, I eventually decided not to attempt to re-order the chair as I no longer wanted it - at least not until a much later date.
Approximately one month later, I saw from my on-line bank statement that inmod has once again charged my account. Not having an e-mail address to contact them (since I had no correspondence from them, and they do not publish an address on their site), I sent several e-mails to standard account names (such as info@ or sales@).
Fortunately I guessed right, and received a reply from one of their sales representatives. This individual informed me that they had no problems with my credit card, and that they only placed the final charge once the item was being shipped. (NOTE: I have not received any correspondence from inmod regarding any shippment either).
He further explained that the Yahoo store system (which inmod uses) automatically sends out the confirmation e-mails, and that at times they end up in spam folders. (I am very carefull about checking my spam folder and can uncategoricly confirm that I received no e-mail regarding this order).
Lastly, since this was considered a special order (with customer defined color and fabric), inmod would not accept a return of this item.
As a result of inmod.com's lack of communication, I am now stuck with a $2,350 chair that I no longer wanted at this time, and cannot return.
