Service of Process
Review by Layman on 2006-07-02
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- I purchased some legal service of process from NPS. It was Routine Service and complied with all the rules. But nobody there told me there would have to be an extra charge to translate documents into Lithuanian from English.
I started having problems in Court, then my attorney told me to get them translated. I did a little research on the web and have found that it was a widespread problem reported across the court systems. There are always extra charges for legal translations but no standard fees
Just to be sure I called NPS International, Inc. and they told me there would be a complimentary fix now for the problem. I finally decided to send my documents back to NPS. Since I live outside the US, I paid to send them again. However once I got them back, I found that they were fine and although NPS indicated they would fix everything free I would have to pay again for shipping it back. TO FIX THE PROBLEMS THAT HAPPENED WHILE IT WAS IN THEIR POSSESION. No one at NPS is willing to pay the shipping charges. I talked with over 15 people and customer support says its a customer service issue, and vice versa, not a billing issue. I even had some of the customer service thought it was funny.
I liked the service but next time warn people about charges for legal translations, especially when the package weighs 38 pounds.
