Four Seasons Complaint - I was charged over $8,000.00 for an on-line reservation! - Hotel Reservations system

Hotel Reservations system - Complaint
Review by LuckyMe on 2006-07-04
WHISTLER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- In January of 2006 I was interested in a ski trip to Whistler, British Columbia for Valentines Day. I looked up the Four Season's Web-site and decided to make and guarantee my reservation for four day in Februaury. We had other friends who also wanted to go so after sleeping on the idea the next day I called the Four Seasons to see if we could get a larger room (and much more expensive!) However, the reservations agent was very curt and lectured me about the reservations being non-refundable, non-changeable, non-cancellable, etc. and since it was already within the 30 day cancellation period I had absolutely NO options. I told her then that I did not do business with organizations with such HOSTILE customer service policies and that I would stay somewhere else. What I did not realize at the time was that she did change my reservation to the more expensive room at a rate of about $1500.00 per night (way out of my price range!!!).
I was unable to get any of the hotel's management to see my side of this situation! They charged me over $8,000.00 for merely having a reservation for less than eight hours in their computer system....IS THAT FAIR? That is as unethical and devious as you can get!
I'm giving The Four Seasons Hotel chain to review this matter and resolve it as honorable business people or else it will end up costing you a lot more than $8,000.00 (US Dollars).

Did you print out your email confirmation of the reservation at the lower price? Gather you facts, print out the rules from their web site and get your credit card company involved. This is when they earn their money.

Perhaps this incident has some connection to the interest hike by Citibank that LuckyMe also complains about. Perhaps this incident put the poster over the credit limit or caused a "burp" in the payment history? Again, Hugh gives great advice to review the T&C for the reservations. Still, this event sounds like one resulting from a spiteful Four Seasons staffer. I wish you luck in getting it cleared up.

IF they truly have a non changeable policy, how did they change your reservation?

Huh??? 4 days = 3 nights would be $4500 plus tax not to mention that this story doesn't add up in other ways as well...
