Wendy's Complaint - Bad service and dirty restaurant - Service

Complaint
Review by sophie on 2006-07-09
ROBERTSDALE,, ALABAMA -- We ate at Wendy's on July 9, 2006. There were no other customers but we still had to wait for someone to take our order. No greeting, no smile, no thank you. But the worst was that every table was dirty, sticky and there was food and trash on the floor. Every garbage can was full. There was no "thank you for your comments" form to fill out. I went to Wendy's web site and there is no email address to send comments. Only a telephone number - not 1-800. I will write them and complain. I have never been so disgusted. I will not do business at this Wendy's again.

I'm certain you saw all the conditions of the restaurant when you got there. Why did you even bother to place an order?

If the conditions of the facility were as nasty as you described I would have chosen elsewhere to eat. However to each their own but I think your doing the best thing by not going back.

Agreed. I would have left. Perhaps if I was very hungry they would have gotten my money once. But I wouldn't go back after that. Sad part is the owner is probably clueless to how the place is being run.

Place an emmediate call to the health Dept. via one of thier phones after you tell them you don't have money for the pay phone.

I used to work at a Wendy's and three of us as managers shared a certain shift. It could have been the particular manager of that shift tried to run on a small crew and you came in right after a lunch or dinner rush. It takes time to clean the food area and restock the food bins and get ready for the next meal time. I can't say that is what happened here but there are reasons and managers are the ones who staff or understaff so these employees can only do so much. Just one way of looking at the problem.

But was the chicken thoroughly cooked?

Hugh, it might have come from the other place?

Alabama again! Most like prozac'ed out? It's a heartace seeing the term "wasted youth" played out today in our restaurants. I would contact Wendy's Home Office and complain out the "wated youth" 614-764-3100. "Big wheels keep on turning. Carry me home to see my kin. Singing songs about the Southland. I miss Alabamy once again. And I think its a sin, yes. Sweet home Alabama. Where the skies are so blue Sweet Home Alabama. Lord, I'm coming home to you"

If it was that bad, then why did you stay there & eat?

People patronize dirty eateries because their need for immediate gratification overcomes their better judgement. "It stinks, but I want it NOW." Later when satiated, they develop "buy's remorse" and notice the filth.
Sorta like the old joke: "The food was horrible there, but at least they gave us big portions."

What happened when you brought this to the attention of the manager? You did tell a manager about it didn't you?? The manager is the best person to tell, calling corporate really won't get you anywhere.
Posted by Mrs Manischewitz on 2006-07-11:
Rebuttal to CrazyRedHead: Oh yes it will! Debate this - the fact that the manager can't control his/her employees via a corporate complaint tells them the "buck stops here." It's a potent, vulgar solution for the consumer.
