Home Depot Complaint - Terrible customer service at Home Depot - no more shopping there!
POUGHKEEPSIE, NEW YORK -- Over the July Fourth holiday we decided to get the roofing done on the home. We went over to the closest Home Depot to buy supplies. What an awful decision to shop at Home Depot! All the way from the cashier to upper management was terrible. They were very impatient with us and treated us quite poorly. For example, when they asked how many additional shingles we would need they huffed and puffed impatiently while we counted the packages. When we asked if we could have more shingles brought down from the upper shelves - they committed to taking more down. Thirty minutes later they're still not available. When we asked for information on materials we got dirty looks and bad attitudes. So we decided to complain to the management and asked them to make their employees aware of the poor customer service. One assistant manager replied "it's been this way for the longest time, this is how it is day after day". My reponse was "as an assistant manager isn't it your responsibility to address these issues? shouldn't you be working on improving employee morale?".
This experience has altered my view on Home Depot - I would rather drive the extra miles and go to some other hardware store. No more shopping at Home Depot for me, my family or my friends.
