Simplywireless.com Complaint - Rebate scam
I ordered a "free Razr Phone from Simply wireless Aug. 15th 2005. The Rebates made the phone free. The system was 3 rebates, $50, $75, and $75 spaced at 3 months 6 months and 9 months. The Forms are complicated and you have to send a copy of your 3rd month bill. The first rebate I missed the mail in date. My oversite. (The dates are found in small lettering in the last paragraph on the form.) The 2nd rebate was mailed at the start of the 30 day window. The Company claimed they never recieved it. I sent copies of everything I sent as they requested. I got a run around and an exchange of emails with a woman who was rather rude. Basically suggesting I was trying to Cheat them out of money. Now considering I was the one who paid $200 bucks for a "Free" phone, I was a bit offended. The 3rd rebate was not recieved also. I foundit amazing that in 40 yrs of dealing with the US Post Office, they have never lost a letter I sent with proper postage and a typed address. Now they lose two in a row! (Yeah Right)
the Customer rep actually told me I should have mailed the rebate Registered mail return receipt requested. (9 dollars to do that!) Eventhought the form does not say that.
Simply Wireless hopes you will forget the timing on the rebate. Plus the mail in windows are set up so that if you realize they your rebate has not arrived it is too late to correct according to their rules. This company is a scam and a ripoff. I STRONGLY suggest you avoid Simply wireless and tell all your Friends to do the same.
