Home Depot Complaint - Call Home Depot within 48hrs or you are stuck with a piece of junk
OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA -- Our nightmare started when we ordered a coin-operated washer and dryer from Home Depot. At the time of order, the saleperson at Home Depot never explained or even mentioned to us about the 48hrs return policy. So, when we found out that the dryer's timer was not working after installing it at our apartment building. We assumed we can go back to Home Depot and either return it or exchange it. Too bad, too late! The store manager refused to do ANYTHING! She said that since we did not call within 48hrs after the delivery to report the defect, and it is a commercial and special order product, so they won't take it back or do anything for us. But, how would we know when they never even say a word about it when they placed the order for us? Now, we contact the manufaturer, GE, and they said that the dryer has only limited warranty which only covers the parts not labor. We ended up paying for the service call($74.95) that only had the technician to come to check our dryer. And they are in the process of ordering the part and we still have to pay for the labor once the technician comes to fix that damn dryer. We were upset that GE is not standing behind their products. It was not like we broke the dryer, but it came broken. It is a product defect. Worse of all, Home Depot took our money and ended up blaming on us for not contacting them on time. What a service and company! We will never want to buy any major products from Home Depot! It is too scary!!
